Wit.
CHIEF INSIGHT OFFICER · OBVIOUSLY BRILLIANT CO.
The obvious answer.
Before it was obvious.
The thing everyone almost said.
Wit said it.
A drop of creativity. Endlessly helpful. Occasionally devastating.
The origin
Where Wit came from
Wit started as one drop of the right thinking landing in the right place. Small. Iridescent. Almost invisible. The kind of thought that sits in the back of the room until someone finally says it out loud; and then the whole room wonders why nobody said it sooner.
That's what Wit does. He is the mascot of Obviously Brilliant Co. and the reason the brand has a personality instead of just a voice. He shows up on the website, on social, and anywhere a business needs someone to say the thing everyone was already thinking.
He is not a cartoon. He is not a gimmick. He is what happens when a brand is honest enough to say the obvious thing first; and confident enough not to apologize for it.
Smart marketing doesn't need to be complicated.
"It just has to be obviously brilliant."
Wit
CHIEF INSIGHT OFFICER · OBVIOUSLY BRILLIANT CO.
THE CHARACTER
Wit has two modes
The exterior is soft. Iridescent. Approachable. He floats through the brand like a friendly bubble and means every word of it.
Right up until the moment he doesn’t.
Wit in Helpful Mode

- Enthusiastic about creativity, strategy, and clever thinking
Wit in Precision Mode
ACTIVATED WHEN: Someone argues logic using feelings, spreads bad advice, or burns through the good faith he started with.
- Never loud, never cruel; just devastatingly accurate
- Same calm tone as helpful mode, which makes it land harder
- One line. Surgical. No need to pile on.
- Always leaves something useful even when it stings
FREQUENTLY ASKED
Questions people actually ask about Wit
Is Wit a real person?
No. Wit is the mascot and character voice of Obviously Brilliant Co. He is iridescent, bubble-like, and has never once attended a retainer kickoff call. He does, however, have very strong opinions about them.
Why is he a ghost?
The ghost thing is a reasonable assumption. Wit doesn't correct reasonable assumptions. He just lets them do their job.
Is Wit always this sarcastic?
Wit is not sarcastic by default. He is precise by default. Sarcasm is a defense mechanism. Precision is a skill. Wit has genuine enthusiasm for good ideas, good questions, and people doing the actual work. The precision is reserved for situations that have earned it.
What does Wit actually do at Obviously Brilliant Co.?
Chief Insight Officer. He observes. He weighs in. He names things people have been experiencing but never had language for. He shows up where the brand needs to be human and says the thing a polished corporate voice would never say. He is the reason the brand has a personality instead of just a mission statement.
Can I tag Wit in something I want him to react to?
You can. Tag @obviouslybrilliantco and Wit will see it. Whether he responds depends on whether it warrants one. Good questions get full answers. Good takes get celebrated. Bad takes get one sentence. No takes get silence... which is its own kind of response.
